Here’s a roundup of some of the Iftar meals that I’ve enjoyed during Ramadan this year, along with details of their promotions and a few pictures of my experience. Enjoy 🙂
Offers a 3 course Iftar set menu including dates for AED 188 per person.
Iftar – sunset
Comment : This is a great way to taste some of Hakkasan’s dishes. Choice from 4 different Dimsum, 4 main courses and 2 desserts. Served from Iftar onwards it’s available for 1 + guests. The normal A La Carte menu is available too. Licensed venue and alcohol is served from 8 pm onwards.
Offers a 4 course Iftar buffet including dates and Iftar drinks for AED 89 per person
Iftar – sunset
Comment : Compared to the hotels, this isn’t a large overwhelming buffet, but what it lacks in terms of huge selection, it makes up for in terms of taste. Starters are a range of salads and soup with a mainly arabic theme. Mains are a selection of chicken & lamb curries, vegetarian dishes and dal with rice and breads. A choice of 5 desserts finishes off the buffet with Rasmalai, flavoured with saffron being my favourite treat., there’s also Um Ali.
Zafran at Marina Mall is offering a 4 course Iftar set menu for AED 89.
The Atlantis – Asateer
Set in a beautiful Ramadan tent, this is a venue seating up to 900 guests, in five Majlis and with private prayer rooms, it has complimentary wi-fi and valet parking right in front of the venue. Food is served buffet style with some live cooking/dessert stations too. Price 185 AED per person including Ramadan Juices.
Suhoor is A la Carte

Comments : This is a large venue, with plenty of choice of food and an opulent arabic setting. Visually stunning with beautiful lighting and creative food displays. Mixture of buffet and live cooking and dessert stations with something for every palate from healthy to downright sinful 🙂 Particularly large selection of arabic desserts and dates. Loved the Turkish delight carved to order from a huge display and the macaroons and chocolates were great too
Tribes – Mall of the Emirates
Offering a set sharing platter which consists of dates filled with cream cheese, sweet lamb african spring rolls, and a hearty harirra soup, followed by a platter of oyster blade roast (500g of meet for 2) with roast vegetables, followed by a dessert platter of sweet and sticky baklava and dates with nuts. Price 2 people AED 220, 4 people AED 340 Includes Iftar drink.
Iftar Platter : Served from Sunset onwards A La Carte available too
This set menu sharing platter allows diners to indulge in a specially prepared menu chosen to showcase some tasty meat blended with arabic influenced starters and dessert. Sharing platter is for a min of 2 people, so you have to commit to a set menu. The normal Tribes menu is available too. This is quite a hearty platter of food and I like the social aspect of a sharing platter, however I must admit to constantly being tempted by dishes being delivered to other tables who were ordering A La Carte too 🙂
The Palace Hotel – Ewaan
Set both indoors and outdoors in a Ramadan tent overlooking the Dubai fountains and Burj Khalifa this Iftar offers a selection of traditional Arabian delicacies. Food is served buffet style, with a number of live cooking stations too. Complimentary Wifi and Valet parking.
Iftar Timing: Sunset to 9pm | Price: From AED 195 per person
Suhour Timing: From 10pm to 2am and till 3am on weekends | Price: A la carte AED 150 minimum spend per person
Comments : Offering a mix of indoor and outdoor seating with fountain views this is always a great venue. The Ramadan tent is beautifully decorated and offers a very arabic themed feeling. Buffet platters are smaller than at the Atlantis but are regularly replenished. Loved the carving stations with four different roasts as well as some great tandoori indian dishes, the dessert area offers a mix of traditional and modern desserts, credit to the chef for beautiful macaroons and home made rose and saffron marshmallows and camel milk vanilla ice-cream.
This relatively new comer to the block is offering a set Iftar menu at a cost of AED 95 per person. A la carte menu available throughout the evening too. This Cafe has a great feel to it, light and airy with beautifully presented and tasty food. Complimentary WiFi and Parking
Iftar & A La Carte : Sunset onwards
Comments : This is s simple menu with a few choices for each course, however simplicity doesn’t mean that it’s lacking in flavour as the food delivers both in terms of presentation and taste. Choice of eating from the Iftar menu or the A la Carte menu offers something for everyone.
Iftar Buffet, in the Constellation Ballroom, offering all seasonal favourites. Complimentary Valet Parking and Wifi.
Suhoor An extensive array of shisha flavours, an a la carte Suhour menu and a traditional game of Backgammon are to be enjoyed in the Terrace Tent, from 8pm onwards.
Iftar sunset to 9pm | Price: AED 155 per person | AED 140 with Emaar Gift Card
Suhoor menu available from 8pm onwards | Price : A la carte
Comments : Great selection of food with plenty of arabic dishes and salads etc, roast rib of beef, tasty lamb chops as well as sushi and dim sum. The dessert station featured some great looking Um Ali as well as an eclectic mix of traditional Arabic treats and some British inspired puddings, such as Sticky Toffee Pudding, Trifle and doughnuts. Small area for children to serve themselves as well as ladies being treated to Henna. The ballroom can be split off into smaller areas for corporate functions providing flexibiliity and a more intimate Iftar feeling.
