“Eat and drink as much as you like” we were told as we were led towards our shaded sofa on the beach for Saturday Brunch.
This was my first visit to Nasimi Beach, for the launch of a new Saturday brunch called Eat, Play, Love. Saturdays are normally spent running chores, or meeting friends over a coffee and more recently glued to my laptop working on my new website so today I broke tradition and headed out to the Palm for a relaxed brunch.
Brunch is served on the beach, I must admit I had been expecting to dine on the terrace so wasn’t really prepared for an afternoon in the sun, none the less shoeless and reclining on the sofas we knew we were in for a relaxing and casual afternoon. Once seated at our sofa, thankfully under the umbrella with some shade, we checked out brunch which was a mix of Mediterranean salads, a live cooking station with BBQ meats, sausages and burgers, deep fried seafood, a chiller with Sushi and a Burrito station. In addition there were five stations each offering different drinks and cocktails, a salad station and a dessert station with fruit, and waffle ice-cream sandwiches completed the offering.
Brunch was casual and relaxed with live music and a DJ and some great music and for a price of 395/AED which includes access to the beach and brunch between 12 noon and 5pm it’s good value too. This isn’t’ a brunch for someone who loves fine dining, or a huge selection of different cuisines, or those who enjoy ordering A La Carte, instead it’s a brunch for beach lovers, party goers, live music lovers and those who like to take off their shoes off, kick back and relax – it’s child free too which for me is always an added bonus !
Top Tip : Grab a sun bed, take your swimmers, remember to take sunscreen and you are in for a fun Saturday afternoon.
