A few days ago geordiearmani invited me to visit Appetite HQ in deepest Al Quoz (not really, but any trip to Al Quoz usually results in my visiting a cement factory or two where ma’am is politely told to do a U turn and go back !).  This time I only had to do 3 loops of a particularly junction before finding the right tree at which to take an immediate right turn into the very low key warehouse where Appetite HQ is located.

Having not done any research prior to my trip, my preferred way (aka a little lazy too!) it was great to meet the energetic and passionate owners of Appetite who explained that as well as providing supplies such as salads and salads to Spinneys and some other retailers (yes I know their salads well – they are delicious) , they also have an office delivery system where they deliver food including sandwiches, salads, wraps, meals, desserts, fresh fruit salads, juices & smoothies.

In addition to this they have a catering and events side of the business  which is essentially a tailor made personalised catering service with a wide range of menus to suit all occasions, from office lunches, buffets, canapes and finger foods to lunchboxes and picnic hampers. Providing catering for individuals and corporate functions, they really do seem to offer a very personalised experience for each client.

We were treated to a selection of great food for an early lunch including some beautiful king prawns, teriyaki salmon and noodles and finishing off with a rich and creamy panna cotta with passion fruit.  We also had some amazing walnut and date bread which I have to buy soon.  Not only did everything look well presented, it tasted fresh and full of flavour too.

Over lunch we also talked about the other side of the business which is a deli called 1762 located in DIFC and Jebel Ali which you can read about here* from geordiearmani’s recent visit and which I must visit soon – I’m particularly interested in the Jebel Ali location as it’s closest to my end of town.

After lunch we were shown around the catering facility.  Everything was spotlessly clean and well organised.  This is the place where the magic happens and quality raw ingredients are turned into great tasting dishes mainly prepared over night so that they are ready and fresh for delivery the next day.

Later that same day, I was invited to afternoon tea by Lime & Tonic – catered for by Appetite and was treated to some more delicious fresh goodies including scones with jam and cream, millionaires shortbread, duck and hoisin sauce wraps, chicken mayo sandwiches and a selection of other great treats.

A perfect day in which may Appetite was sated fully by the Appetite team 🙂

You can find Appetite on their website, on Facebook or on Twitter.

You can also read about them on GeordieArmani’s website as well as an article on 1762 Deli here.

Bon appetite !!
